Segmenting and Monetizing

Don't just described yourself as a Gardner. Start to think about how you can segment your gardening into landscape gardening, grass cutting, hanging baskets, power spray, window boxes, et cetera.

Products and Services

​Against each of these segments or areas then you can have a range of products and services to help to monetise your skill. In other words, get paid for all you do.

So, for example in hanging baskets we can have an e-book describing how to make a hanging basket. We can sell hanging basket kits. We can make bespoke hanging baskets. We can run a craft class in making your own hanging baskets.

What is your key skill or main area of expertise? How can this experience/expertise be turned into multiple income streams?

Monetizing
 
There are lots of ways to monetize your segments of expertise e.g., create physical products, develop a network, offer on-line courses, give talks, write ebooks, have a coaching programme, set up a membership scheme, produce videos, deliver webinars, organise training events, run workshops, give advice, offer mentoring support, undertake consultancy, set-up  joint ventures, record podcasts, publish how-to manuals, etc!!

​Be creative and keep going until you have an amazing list.

 EXERCISE -  Pick your winners
Now prioritise two or three products or services. What are these?

Now work on these every day. Build your range of products/services and promote them online, by email, social media, website, amazon, etc. You must have several offerings that people can buy from you. How else will they engage properly and work with you? Create your daily plan.

EXERCISE - Income management of each product or service
 
How will people purchase your products and services? What sources is it available from – your website, Amazon, by email, etc? Is there an easy way for people to buy this? Be clear about the income expectation of every product or service that you offer.
