Welcome from / About Des

This  is  my business website. This is my personal website. This is my book website. This is my training and coaching website. This is my own website for harvesting all I discover,   In other words this website is a reflection not just of all that I do but all that I am.

You see we all do more than one thing. And we all multitask. And we all think about different things in the one day as we switch from this to that.

Some say that to put all of these things together will confuse the reader. We are meant to present ourselves as one thing  with nicely packaged products and services. But I disagree with that. I think our strength lies in being fully ourselves  and showing that there are many aspectsto who we are and what we do.

So dip in and out of this website. Find a topic that interests you. You don’t have to like everything or agree with me.   You see, the main purpose of this website is to encourage you to be fully yourself,  to write your words, to work with others and to get your message out there. For we can all work together, today  to create a better and kinder world. Individually and together, we can work it out!

Des McCabe BOOKS

What shall we look at?

Hello!

My experience as a writer comes from a lifetime of training, working with others and helping people to build their futures. All I do is ‘harvest’ and write down what has happened or what I’ve learnt - as I go along.

Whereas many authors tend to specialise in one topic or genre, I’m a bit all over the show! All of my books are simply collections of ideas and experience that I’ve picked up working with people along the way. I’ve written over 20 books so far covering work, income generation, career development, licensing and business development through to inclusion, spirituality and God. An eclectic mix but then life doesn’t come in ready-made packages.

My aim has always been to enjoy working with others and to capture what comes from this. I hope you find something of value in this expanding collection ….. thanks!

Brief Biography

Des McCabe (Hay House best-selling Author) is an internationally recognised personal development specialist.

He founded The Training Business, which became the largest independent training organisation in the UK - finding jobs for 5,000 long-term unemployed and helping 4,000 people to get qualifications every year.

Des's expertise in the field of job creation led to him becoming an advisor to the British, Irish, US, Argentinian, Romanian and Albanian governments on employment, social inclusion and training-related policy. He received formal recognition of his standing as one of the leading job creation entrepreneurs from 'Europe's 500', one of Europe's most prominent bodies of entrepreneurs.

Beyond his professional achievements, Des established and raised funding for The Training Trust, an international charity set up to meet the humanitarian needs of children in Romanian orphanages. One notable example of how the charity sought to bring about fundamental change was a three year programme, in which local people were trained to become trainers of orphanage staff. This was delivered in conjunction with the Romanian Government.

In Africa, Des has been involved in Comic Relief projects in Kenya, and has supported a range of anti-poverty work in Ghana and Madagascar.

Closer to home, Des serves as Chair of the European Union's cross-border Interreg training group in Northern Ireland, and as Chair of the EU Border Training Bureau. He was an advisor to the Irish and US Governments in the early stages of the Northern Ireland Peace Process and went on to design the 'PeaceBuilder' training programme with US Special Envoy Senator George Mitchell's Northern Ireland Fund for Reconciliation. This sought to encourage schoolchildren from different backgrounds to work together with their counterparts in Namibia.

Des received the Diversity 21 Award for the development of an innovative diversity programme on religion and belief. He was singled out for this recognition by a peer group of senior managers in over 300 public sector organisations and government departments. He founded Diversiton which created and produces the Inclusion Calendar, the worlds leading annual diversity calendar.

Work It Out! programmes have helped thousands to achieve their personal aims, leverage the full potential of their organisation and tackle local social/economic issues. Work It Out! utilises a proven results driven methodology of collective coaching - focusing on mission/aspirations, building on strengths, 'workpieces' and new models of collaboration. All this is underpinned with attitudinal and behaviour strategies which deliver success and outcomes quickly.
